Vernacular Typography Analysis on Tombstones in Bandung City

Death is something that all humans have to face. In delivering their final resting place, there are various series of ceremonies also require property, one which a tombstone. Tombstones form respect for those who died and function as markers community archives because in them information about died, year birth death, service, position. so it can be conveyed easily, accurate typography needed order properly represent the buried there. Therefore this study was formed find out how visual characteristics vernacular covered by tombstones through descriptive research. method data collection done using purposive sampling conducted around Bandung city. The results show these variations which, when grouped, own characteristics.
